About Project

The Alerics Milk Pop packaging project was created for a Sri Lankan ice cream brand looking to refresh its product presentation and stand out on crowded shelves. The goal was to design a playful yet premium box that would appeal to both children and adults. The final design uses bold, hand-lettered typography for the product name and a vibrant colour palette of purple with pops of orange, green and yellow, reflecting research that colours can evoke emotions and make a product feel craveable. Dynamic shapes and abstract patterns give the package energy and motion, while simple illustrations of the milk-and-chocolate pops clearly communicate the flavour. Nutritional and sustainability icons are included to build trust with health‑conscious consumers. The overall effect is a fun, eye‑catching package that conveys indulgence and freshness. Ideation and Result

The ideation phase began with a broad range of sketches and mock-ups exploring different colour schemes, fonts and layouts. Early concepts included more conservative palettes and script fonts as well as bright, cartoony versions. Drawing on market insights that family‑oriented ice cream brands benefit from lively typography and bold hues, the team gradually refined the visuals toward a playful yet sophisticated aesthetic. The chosen design features a modern hand‑drawn logo and warm accent colours to evoke excitement. A compact box structure was developed to maximise shelf visibility without wasting material. The physical packaging faithfully reflects the digital concept, demonstrating that careful attention to colour, typography and form can translate into a cohesive and enticing product experience.
