Exterior House — Façade 3D Rendering, Colombo

This project involved designing only the exterior of a modern three-storey home. The client wanted a contemporary façade that would stand out while still fitting into the surrounding neighbourhood. The design features stacked rectangular volumes with clean lines and neutral tones. Warm wood detailing under the roof eaves and along a central column introduces a natural texture and contrasts with the light‑coloured stucco. A brick accent wall at the ground floor adds depth, and large glass doors and windows bring natural light inside while enhancing the visual connection between indoors and outdoors. A landscaped planter at the first-floor roofline softens the geometry and brings greenery into the composition. A circular window with a decorative grille serves as an artistic focal point that adds character to the façade.

When conceptualising this home, our main focus was creating a balanced vertical composition that maximises space while maintaining harmony with the adjacent houses. We chose a palette of soft beige and grey to provide a timeless backdrop, and we incorporated natural materials like wood and brick to bring warmth and authenticity to the design. Large expanses of glass were positioned to capture daylight and open the living spaces to views outside. Greenery was integrated through planters and a roofline garden to add a biophilic element; research shows that natural textures and living plants enhance mood and reduce stress. The final result is a distinctive yet welcoming modern home that pairs crisp geometry with natural materials and landscape elements, delivering a sophisticated exterior that complements its context without compromising on individuality.
